RENEWABLES & EV CHARGING FAQS
Practical Answers Before You Get in Touch.
Common questions about solar suitability, batteries, EV charging, DNO requirements, roof readiness and project route.
Is commercial solar worth it for my property?
It depends on the building, the numbers and how the site uses power. The strongest case is usually where electricity is used during daylight and the roof, fixing route, electrical setup and DNO position are suitable. Zamax reviews those points before recommending a route.
Can you install EV chargers for commercial premises?
Yes. We plan EV charging around staff, visitors, tenants or fleet use, including charger locations, parking layout, cable routes, load management and supply capacity so the installation fits how the site operates.
Can battery storage be included?
Where suitable, yes. Battery storage is assessed against consumption pattern, solar generation, peak load, controls, budget and intended use, so storage is only considered where it supports the commercial case.
Do you check DNO and supply capacity?
Yes. Existing load, spare capacity, distribution and the DNO application or notification route should be checked early so the project is not priced or planned around the wrong power assumptions.
Do you check the roof before solar?
Yes. On commercial buildings, roof condition and fixing route can matter as much as the panels. We consider access, roof covering, future roofing risk and any remedial work early so solar is not installed onto a weak route.
Can solar or EV be coordinated with roofing or electrical work?
Yes. This is one of Zamax's strengths. Roofing, fixings, distribution, metering, charger routes, car parks, tenants and refurbishment stages can be considered together so responsibilities and sequencing stay clear.
Can you help with finance or phased installation?
Where available and suitable, we can discuss phased delivery or finance and funding routes as part of the project route. We do not assume finance is right for every site; the route depends on the system, supplier, lender or funder and the commercial case.
What paperwork or certification is provided?
This depends on the system and agreed scope. We confirm the relevant handover records, electrical certification where applicable, DNO paperwork or notification route, system information, monitoring access, warranties and documentation before completion.
What information helps you assess the project?
Send the property address, energy bills or usage data if available, roof details, photographs, supply information, charger requirement, business hours, deadlines and any access or operating constraints.
Which areas do you cover?
Zamax is based in Blackburn and supports commercial properties across Lancashire, Greater Manchester and the wider North West, depending on the scope.
